Elyse Cooke hails from Columbus, OH (Go Buckeyes!). She double-majored in Spanish and Elementary Education as a student at Wittenberg University. After her graduation in 2013, Elyse spent four years teaching 2nd and 3rd-grade students in Columbus, Ohio and Orlando, Florida. She was awarded Teacher of the Year in 2016 because of her proven track record to improve student test scores and build authentic relationships with the families she worked with. In 2017,Elyse moved to Atlanta to pursue a Master of Divinity degree at the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. She is a certified candidate in the Florida Conference and is on track for ordination as an Elder. She is engaged to Caralie Focht, a PhD student in Hebrew Bible at Emory University. They will be married next May and together they have a puppy named Professor. When she’s not working, tutoring, or studying, she enjoys drinking good coffee, taking her puppy for walks, and reading all types of books. You can reach Elyse here!
