Evensong & Eucharist: Amplifying Queer Voices in Worship

Join us for a night of poetry, scripture, music, & Madonna.

On the eve of the our observance of Palm Sunday, we're holding an Evensong & Eucharist worship service featuring the music of Madonna. This concert-style service will feature local musicians and focus on queer artistic expression - voices that have historically been silenced by the Christian church.

We hope you'll join us.
Madonna is the poster child for someone who has been condemned, criticized, and censored by the Church. Madonna has been an icon in the gay community for over three decades. She was outspoken about the need for HIV/AIDS research funding when other mainstream artists and celebrities were silent, brought queer culture and art to a wide audience and advocated for safer sex practices in her concerts when the subject was taboo. Through her long history in the spotlight, she's also received criticism for cultural appropriation, fertilization of gay culture, and other controversial issues. We'll explore her art and controversy - her activism and shortcomings as we celebrate the queer voice in worship.
